Function:

Statewide movement of non-profits, schools, businesses, government agencies, and communities that provide services with and for Minnesota's young people.

Organization's Goals:

1.Strengthen youth success in school and learning throughout Minnesota.
2.Increase youth engagement in communities across Minnesota.
3.Develop and magnify youth voice across Minnesota.
4.Promote networking, collaboration, and innovation with entities that share our vision.

History:

Minnesota Alliance with Youth was founded in 1997 as a means for youth - and organizations that serve youth - to actively network, share resources, and collaborate on innovative strategies that promote youth leadership and advocacy.

America's Promise Alliance was formed by General Colin Powell to carry forward a vision of national and community service put forth by then-President Clinton and the then living ex-presidents at the President's Summit for America's Future. The MN Alliance with Youth is MN the affiliate of America's Promise-The Alliance for Youth. Minnesota receives training and support from America's Promise to build stronger networks between youth-service providers and other interested parties by allowing them to easily share ideas, receive technical assistance, and learn from peers.
