Governor's State Quarter Dollar Commission

Active dates:July 2003-2005
Function: Announce procedures and guidelines for the selection of design narratives for Minnesota's quarter dollar, invite submission of design narratives, review design narratives, forward five submissions as finalists, seek public comment on the finalists, and make their recommendation to the Governor.

Governor
Membership: Seven appointments made by the Governor. One student, three public members, one member of the American Numismatic Association, one high school social studies teacher, one elementary school teacher. The legislature also make member appointments, and the Department of Education provides staff support.
