Minnesota S.A.F.E. Coordinating Council

Function: The purpose of the Coordinating Council is to create a strategic plan for addressing violence and drug abuse in Minnesota and to ensure that the programs currently scattered throughout state government are working together toward a common goal.
Membership:
The Coordinating Council shall be composed of eleven members appointed by the Governor. The Coordinating Council shall consist of the Commissioners of Public Safety; Corrections; Health; Human Services; Children, Families and Learning; and Economic Security along with the Adjutant General of Military Affairs, Attorney General, Director of Minnesota Planning, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the U.S. Attorney. The Chair of the Coordinating Board shall be the Commissioner of Public Safety.
