Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association

Function: The Reinsurance Association was created to reimburse insurers and self-insurers for costs of catastophic claims in excess of $300,000.
History: This non-profit organization was created by the 1979 Minnesota Legislature.
Membership: Board of directors: 13 plus commissioner of labor and industry.
