The Task Force will implement statewide plans to educate the public and professional community on the issues of sexual exploitation of therapy clients; design and propose relevant changes to civil laws; assist training institutions in preparing counselors and therapists to deal with sexual exploitation of clients; design administrative procedures for employers of therapists and for professional organizations that will help to prevent sexual exploitation of clients and to handle the problem once it has occurred; address the problems of sexual exploitation of clients in agencies and institutions licensed or run by the state, and initiated an ecumenical efforts to deal with the problem of sexual exploitation of counseling clients by the clergy.
The Task Force was to make recommendations to Legislature by February 1, 1985, and terminate July 1, 1985.
