    Medical Assistance Vendor Advisory Task Force

    Function: Consult with the Minnesota Commissioner of Human Services on determination of services that are not medically necessary.

    History: Established in 1983. Before that time, the commissioner was to consult with either a review organization or other advisory committees established by the commissioner. There are no records that this task force has ever met in the past.

    In 1988, the group was renamed the Vendor Advisory Task Force.

    The Vendor Advisory Task Force was reviewed by the Legislative Commission on Planning and Fiscal Policy (LCPFP) in 2013 as part of their biennial duty required by Minn. Stat. 3.885 Subd. 11. The LCPFP's 2013 Recommendations called for the task force to be repealed and 2014 Minn. Laws Chap. 286 Art. 7 Sec. 11 contained the repeal.
    Membership: Number varies; appointed by commissioner of human services on the recommendation of appropriate professional organizations. Terms not specified; compensation not specified.
