Water Resources Council

Function: Coordinate Minnesota state programs and activities relating to management and planning for water and related land resources; required under provisions of the federal Water and Related Land Resources Planning Act (P.L. 89-90).
History:
The executive order establishing the council also mandated establishment of several advisory committees and technical subcommittees.
Membership:
Representatives of several Minnesota State agencies.
Notes:
Replaced by Water Resources Planning Board. Water Resources Council is also the name of the federal agency that oversees all basin commissions, established under the Water Resources Planning Act of 1965. (Source: Interstate compacts and commissions,
