Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Robert J. Hyde to the Gambling Control Board. Hyde, of Plymouth, retired earlier this year as a partner with the Deloitte & Touche accounting firm. During his 37 years with the company, he served as audit director, was an instructor for national firm training programs, and was the compliance officer for Deloitte’s Midwest Region. Hyde earned his master of business administration degree with an emphasis in accounting as well as his bachelor of science degree from Mankato State University. A certified public accountant, he is a member of the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy, a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Hyde is appointed to a four-year term that expires on June 30, 2013 and replaces Peggy Moon on the board. The Gambling Control Board issues, suspends and revokes licenses of organizations, bingo halls, distributors and manufacturers of gambling equipment, registers gambling equipment, collects license fees and inspects records, conducts hearings to insure integrity of operations and compliance with all applicable laws and rules. The Gambling Control Board consists of seven members, including five appointed by the Governor. |
