GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REAPPOINTS JACOBSON TO BOARD OF MINNESOTA STATE ACADEMIES -- March 12, 2009

Saint Paul – Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the reappointment of Nadine Jacobson to the Board of the Minnesota State Academies.

Jacobson, of Edina, is a homemaker and mother. She previously served as a braille instructor for BLIND, Inc. in Minneapolis and worked for the Hennepin County Human Services Department in nursing home contract compliance and foster care licensing. She is the former president of the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind (MSAB) Alumni Association.

Jacobson earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and social work from the College of St. Catherine and a masters degree in social work from the University of Minnesota. Jacobson is appointed as a member of the blind community to a four-year term that expires January 7, 2013.

The Board of the Minnesota State Academies governs the Minnesota Academy for the Blind and the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, both located in Faribault, Minnesota. The board is made up of nine members, six appointed by the Governor.
