A STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS -- September 26, 2007

~ Governor Pawlenty’s Director of Communications’, Brian McClung, statement regarding DFL calls for new leadership at Mn/DOT ~

Saint Paul – The following is a statement from Brian McClung, Director of Communications for Governor Tim Pawlenty, regarding DFL calls for new leadership at Mn/DOT:

“We’ve heard this multiple times from Senator Murphy. Rather than focus on personal attacks, we are hopeful that Senator Murphy will work with us on a comprehensive, compromise plan that will help improve our transportation system.

“The immediate decision before Senator Murphy and his DFL colleagues right now is whether or not they will approve the LAC request to give Mn/DOT the authority to spend the federal money we will receive to rebuild the I-35W bridge. It’s a common sense, straight forward request that will ensure the bridge is rebuilt in a timely manner. We look forward to their consideration and approval of the request.”
