The following is a statement from Governor Tim Pawlenty in reaction to the news of former State Senator Dallas Sams’ death.

“Minnesota lost a true champion of the outdoors, agriculture and veterans today. Senator Sams was loved by everyone around the Capitol for his caring nature, good humor and common sense. On behalf of the people of Minnesota, Mary and I extend our deepest sympathies to the Sams family.”
