Governor Pawlenty was notified by FEMA that his request for Individual Assistance for flood victims in southern Minnesota has been denied. As a result, the Governor is requesting a U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Declaration for the counties of Blue Earth, Dodge, Faribault, Goodhue, Martin, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, and Watonwan as a result of flooding that began September 22. |

Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that a Special Session of the legislature will convene on October 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in order to address the state's share of flood relief now that a federal disaster has been declared for 21 counties that were affected by flooding that began on September 22. |

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REQUESTS PRESIDENTIAL DISASTER DECLARATION FOR SOUTHERN MINNESOTA -- October 1, 2010 |

In a letter to President Obama, Governor Tim Pawlenty today requested a federal disaster declaration for the State of Minnesota as a result of flooding caused by severe storms that began on September 22 in southern Minnesota. Preliminary assessments indicate a total of $64.1 million in damage, $44.9 million of which was to public infrastructure. |
