GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS FIFTEEN TO CAPITOL 2005 COMMISSION -- April 24, 2003
 

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Joseph O'Neill and the reappointment of Duane Benson, Joanne Benson, Cay Shea Hellervik, Hubert "Skip" Humphrey, III, John Labosky, George Latimer, Dr. Anita Pampusch, Len Price, Peter Rodosovich and Bill Sands to the Governor's State Capitol 2005 Commission.

Duane Benson, Lanesboro, is the executive director of the Minnesota Business Partnership and a former Minnesota State Senator.

Joanne Benson, White Bear Lake, is the chief executive officer of the Minnesota Business Academy in St. Paul and a former Minnesota Lieutenant Governor.

Hellervik, St. Paul, is vice president of Personnel Decisions, International.

Humphrey, Golden Valley, is a senior vice president with GCI Tunheim in Minneapolis and a former Minnesota Attorney General.

Labosky, Edina, is president and chief executive officer of the Capital City Partnership in St. Paul.

Latimer, St. Paul, is a professor of Urban Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul and a former mayor of St. Paul.

O'Neill, St. Paul, is an attorney and partner in the St. Paul law firm of O'Neill, Grills and O'Neill.

Pampusch, Roseville, is president of the Bush Foundation in St. Paul.

Price, Woodbury, is a retired teacher and a former Minnesota State Senator.

Rodosovich, New Brighton, is the executive director of the University Branch YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Sands, St. Paul, is the chairman of Western Bank and a former member of the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board. Sands will continue to chair the commission.

The Governor's State Capitol 2005 Commission was created by Executive Order 01-01 in 2001 to develop plans for the centennial celebration of the State Capitol in 2005. Governor Pawlenty reauthorized the Executive Order earlier this month. The commission consists of 15 members, including 11 appointed by the Governor and four appointed by the legislature.
